The candidate’s primary responsibilities will be to provide technical support for existing data and voice land mobile radio and cellular communications systems, and also take written customer requirements, create design documents, propose cost estimates, and work with various types of engineers, including software, systems, embedded systems, and hardware engineers to implement viable customer solutions. The development of design and test documentation for the various product groups will also be required. Through hands-on testing, the candidate will be required to ensure the products being designed and deployed at customer sites are of the highest quality and meet the contractual needs of the client.
The candidate must have an engineering degree and a minimum three years of experience in the design, implementation and deployment of two-way radio solutions or embedded computer and RF solutions. The candidate shall also have experience being part of technical projects. Experience with implementing P25 phase 1/phase 2, Trunked or Conventional simulcast/multicast is desired. It is preferred the candidate have experience integrating telemetry, SCADA, CAD/AVL or other remote voice/data systems with existing and new LMR radio systems. They shall be able to read schematics, troubleshoot analog, Ethernet/packet based networks and shall have a working knowledge of RF service monitors, signal generators, oscilloscopes, digital logic analyzers and network sniffers. The ability to use and troubleshoot commercially available wireless data modems to send and receive data packet streams to a Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) switch or similar technology is preferred. A strong understanding of Radio Frequency signal propagation and general frequency modulation characteristics are required. Understanding of networking stack and basic protocols (TCP, UDP, IP) and working knowledge of WLANs is desirable.

Travel to customer sites is required and is estimated at 15-25% yearly.
VoIP experience is desired with 3-5 years’ experience. Strong interpersonal soft skills are required. The candidate shall be comfortable using Microsoft Visio, Project, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Engineering degree and a minimum three years of experience in the design.
