Overview

The Network Engineering Team Lead will collaborate with other team members and groups to identify and develop scalable network designs, solutions, and policy recommendations. The environment includes multiple global call/tech support centers, data centers, satellite offices and test centers.  The position requires demonstrated expertise in routing and WAN technologies with an emphasis on VPN and MPLS.   The Team Lead will provide mentorship and leadership to the network engineering function, this includes assisting in work scheduling and prioritization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mentorship and leadership to team members
  • Maintain an organized work schedule for network engineering team
  • Support and lead implementation of client’s changing network infrastructure.
  • Ensure continued smooth operation of the global network infrastructure
  • Lead projects and troubleshoot a full range of network related issues
  • Prioritize and be outcome focused, continually hit assigned deadlines
  • Maintain a relentless focus on change control processes
  • The successful candidate will be able to switch focus and priority quickly while working efficiently implementing and documenting a superior network
  • Troubleshoot and design voice over IP (VoIP) solutions
  • Work a rotating on-call schedule outside of business hours
  • Capable of working on own initiative and as part of a remote team
  • Self-starter with the ability to show initiative with minimal supervision
  • Support and design wireless networks
  • Work globally on a follow-the-sun model
  • Report regularly on work progress, maintain an up to date project portfolio
  • Using evolving technology to improve overall network performance while reducing recurring cost

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years’ hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies
  • Cisco certified to CCNP level
  • Proficient with LAN network design/implementation, WAN technologies with an emphasis on DMVPN, OSPF and BGP routing, MPLS
  • Prior team management experience
  • Advanced Cisco routing and switching knowledge
  • Experience implementing Cisco Nexus switch technology
  • Experience working with Cisco ACI and APIC technologies a distinct advantage
  • Experience with Checkpoint firewalls and Juniper Netscreen devices highly desirable
  • Proficient with Cisco ASA firewall configuration and deployment
  • Demonstrated technical project management experience
  • Experienced in network design and implementation, not just support
  • Excellent Visio documentation skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Must understand high level security needs and securities inoperability with data communications
  • Must possess excellent communications skills and an ability to work effective across cultures, can speak to and describe network conditions at the at all levels (technically to an engineer – high level to management or business personnel)
