Environmental Construction Project Manager

Our client, an environmental ecosystem restoration firm, is seeking an experienced Environmental Construction Superintendent to join our growing team. This position is in Maryland, but services Maryland, Virginia, and beyond.

 

In this role, the Project Manager will be working directly with owners, engineers, and design firms to complete heavy construction water quality projects and is responsible for the direct oversight and management of budgets, staff and subcontractors working on a large and diverse environmental construction project.Much of the work is related to earthwork associated with stream restoration and experience with soils, water, and the natural environment is a must.Responsibilities include coordinating with the client to schedule appointments and services; developing schedules to meet contract requirements; providing direction and coordination of field activities related to construction and restoration; and speaking and securing materials and equipment required to complete the project.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Managing the overall success of each project.
  • Ensure implementation of health and safety and project work
  • Monitor project budget and project
  • Interface and professionally communicate with clients.
  • Oversee timelines, materials, plan specification, and contracts to completion.
  • Ensure quality control, and project goals are met by working with management team.

 

 

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • 5-10 years of construction-related experience.
  • Knowledge of best practices for commercial and environmental construction, including work sequencing.
  • Previous experience as a construction foreman or superintendent is
  • Understanding of construction contracts, subcontracts, and the bid
  • Ability to manage budgets and
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, skills are required.
  • Computer, and construction software skills are a must.

 

 

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma, GED, or vocational school supplemented by college level or training courses in project management and environmental science or a related field. At least 3 years of proven heavy construction experience.

 

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

A valid driver’s license is required, and a safe driving record as measured by company policy. Employment is dependent upon the findings of a background check.

 

Physical Requirements: Work may be performed under extreme weather conditions, including hot and cold ambient temperatures. Tasks involve bending, lifting, walking, carrying, on uneven surfaces. Employment is dependent upon passing a drug screening and physical examination by a medical professional for the anticipated work requirements.

 

Salary: This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits. Pay is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
